Annapolis Police Daily Report December 21, 2015 Community Events January 2 – Navy Basketball Kids’ Event at 1pm January 5 – Auxiliary Officer Open House from 6:30pm to 8pm at 199 Taylor Avenue In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 207 calls for service and arrested 15 people. Burglary – 201500005775 – Unit block of Silverwood Circle – 12/17 from 11:30am to 8pm: Money was stolen from a home. There were no signs of forced entry. Theft from Vehicle – 201500005776 – 200 block of Claude St – 12/17 at 11pm to 12/18 at 8am: Money was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Burglary – 201500005778 – 1400 block of Tyler Av – 12/18 at 11:20am: Officers responded for a report of plywood pried off a vacant unit in the area. When they searched the home they discovered Jonathan Hill, 19, of Annapolis inside. Hill was arrested and charged with fourth degree burglary. He also admitted to a recent burglary in the same area and was charged with fourth degree burglary and destruction of property in that case. Burglary – 201500005789 – 900 block of Langdon Ct – 12/18 from 8:30am to 7:45pm: The rear door to the home was forced open and an Amazon Kindle, a digital camera, and jewelry and watches were stolen. Burglary – 201500005800 – 100 block of Scott Dr – 12/19 from 10:30am to 4:15pm: The home owner returned and found the home ransacked. It is unknown what was stolen at this time. There were no signs of forced entry. Burglary – 201500005811 – 900 block of Forest Dr – 12/20 from 12:50pm to 7:30pm: The front door was forced open and a handgun, money, and jewelry were stolen from the home. Attempted Robbery – 201500005812 – 600 block of Island Creek Ct – 12/21 at 12:20am: The victim, an adult male cab driver, was in the 1700 block of Forest Dr when he was approached by three male suspects requesting a ride. They got in the cab and rode around the city and then to Island Creek Ct. When they pulled up in the court one of the suspects grabbed the cab driver around the neck from behind and the other two began to assault him. The victim was able to break free and exit the cab. The suspects fled the area on foot towards Yawl Rd. Holiday DUI Enforcement ‘Tis the season to be merry, but if you are making merry by drinking and driving, make a new plan. Make a plan for getting home safely before heading to your holiday party. If you see a suspected drunk driver, report it to the police by calling 410-268-4141 or 9-1-1. Citizen Fingerprinting There will be citizen fingerprinting offered on Monday, December 28, 2015. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, January 4, 2016. Navy Basketball Kids’ Event Join the Annapolis Police Department for an afternoon of hoops as Men’s Navy Basketball faces Holy Cross on January 2nd. Children aged 7 to 15 are invited to join officers for a meal provided by Blackwall Hitch followed by the 1pm Navy game. The tickets to the game were donated by Navy Sports.
