Attempted Kidnapping on Sligo Creek Parkway
Officers from the Maryland-National Capital Park Police made an on scene arrest of a subject suspected of Attempted Kidnapping and Indecent Exposure on Sligo Creek Parkway. The incident began earlier when a dentist office on Colesville Road contacted the Montgomery County Police regarding a subject acting strangely.
Meanwhile a second complaint of a subject fitting the same description was broadcast regarding an incident on Sligo Creek Parkway. In the second incident, an adult male subject approached a woman and her infant child at the playground on Sligo Creek Parkway and Edgevale Road. The subject demanded the baby from the victim. The woman was holding the child at the time and kept the subject away from her with the stroller. The subject was able to wrestle the stroller from the victim. At this time, two citizens came upon the scene and frightened the subject away. The subject then traveled toward Route 29 where he exposed himself to two female citizens.
The subject involved in both incidents was subsequently confronted by Montgomery County Police at Route 29 and Sligo Creek Parkway.
The subject was arrested by the officers on the scene. None of the victims were harmed during the incident.
