Payday Loan Regulations in Texas House
In Texas, several payday lending bills are currently moving through the legislation in an attempt to add some regulations to payday loan businesses throughout the state.

Three bills specifically are under review by the Texas House for consideration, including two lighter bills about fee disclosure and licensing for storefront businesses, as well as a third more controversial bill which aims to regulate payday loan amounts as well as the number of times these types of loans can be extended.

Representative Gary Elkins from Houston has openly admitted to protecting his interests as a payday lender, knowing that changes to the laws regarding payday lending could make it difficult for him to continue to run his business in the same manner. The legislative session ends May 30th, which means that the legislation will have to be decided and approved soon in order to make it in time to Gov. Rick Perry who could sign or veto the bill.

While storefront payday loan businesses may be convenient for some, online payday loans are a highly convenient way of applying for a  short term loan when an emergency arises where you need a little extra cash to help you through to your next paycheck.
