Man Gets 20 Years for Robbing Cash Advance Store in VA

In Richmond, Virginia, it has been reported that a man was sentenced with 20 years of jail time.  The defendant, 32 year old Shaun David Burns, was accused of armed robbery, forgery, and receipt of stolen property.

Police say that Burns pled guilty in September to reach a plea agreement with state prosecutors.  He pled guilty to first-degree robbery, which is a class A felony in Virginia.  He also pled guilty to charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, two counts of second-degree forgery, and receiving stolen property with a value less than $10,000.

By entering his guilty plea in court, Burns has legally admitted that he robbed the American Cash Advance store in Berea, VA.  The robbery occurred back in March.  Burns faces life imprisonment for his criminal activities.
