Police Investigate Armed Robbery and
Aggravated Assault in Gaithersburg

Montgomery County Police 6th District Investigative Section is investigating an armed robbery and aggravated assault of a citizen that occurred this morning in Gaithersburg.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue paramedics, officers from The Gaithersburg City Police, and officers from the Montgomery County Police 6th District responded to the 900 block of Hillside Lake Terrace in Gaithersburg for a reported armed robbery and aggravated assault. Officers found a semi-conscious 50-year-old man from Gaithersburg on the floor of his home.

Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was severely beaten with a blunt object, and robbed. The victim was attacked, as he was walking by two black males who beat him with the blunt object. After the attack, the victim was able to make it to his home. His roommate contacted police and fire and rescue. The victim was flown by helicopter to an area hospital as a trauma patient. The victims injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The suspects are described as black males in their 20’s, both suspects have muscular builds.
