Montgomery County Receives National Accreditation for Health Services in Jails

The Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation has received national accreditation by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care for its 100 percent compliance with the commission’s Standards for Health Services in Jails.

In granting accreditation for the Montgomery County Correctional Facility and the Montgomery County Detention Center, the commission reviewed inmate access to health care, policies and procedures, emergency response plans and communication on special needs patients. It also reviewed the County’s ability to manage a safe and healthy environment, personnel and training, health care services and support, inmate care and treatment, and health promotion and disease prevention.
