The Montgomery County Office of the County Executive and the Tiger Woods Foundation are sponsoring 20 local teens and 10 mentors at the AT&T National Golf Tournament being played at Congressional Country Club. Co-sponsors include the County’s Recreation Department and the George B. Thomas Learning Academy.
The teens, ages 12 - 16, attend either the George B. Thomas Learning Academy Saturday school or are participants in the Recreation Department’s after-school activities. Groups of 10 teens and five mentors will attend the AT&T golf tournament on Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7, courtesy of the Tiger Woods Foundation, giving them an opportunity to experience something beyond their own neighborhood. Programs supported by the Tiger Woods Foundation all share a mission of empowering young people to dream big and set specific goals to achieve their dreams.
