Officer-Involved Shooting in Damascus

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section are investigating a shooting incident that occurred this morning in Damascus.

At 6:53 a.m. today, 5th District officers responded to the call for “officer needs assistance” at the 26000 block of Cornor Drive in Damascus.

A detective from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section was investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred on Sunday, May 6, at the 8200 block of Brink Road in Gaithersburg. The detective was traveling in the area of Cornor Drive this morning and recognized a home invasion robbery suspect and his vehicle. The detective followed the vehicle and it stopped at the 26000 block of Cornor Drive. A confrontation occurred between the suspect and the detective.
