County Executive Ike Leggett will recognize a group of “everyday heroes” -- ordinary people who performed in an extraordinary manner – for saving the lives of others in a fiery car crash on White Ground Road in Boyds that occurred in August, and an apartment fire on West Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg that occurred in October. Those being recognized include the 15-year-old son of a church minister and three cousins who were attending services at the church when a single car accident occurred nearby.
Council President Marilyn Praisner and Council Public Safety Committee Chair Phil Andrews will also be on hand for the recognition ceremony, as will Fire Chief Tom Carr. ...more More... |
