Bethesda Detectives Close Six Burglary Cases

The Bethesda Investigative Section has closed six Bethesda burglaries and one theft with the arrest of a 14-year-old male from Bethesda.

During the early days of May, 2nd District detectives began to notice that several burglaries in Bethesda had occurred in close proximity to one another and that the method of entry into the homes was usually a basement window. On May 9, police responded to a burglary in the 5000 block of Keokuk Street. One of the items stolen from the home was an Apple iPad. Responding officers were able to track the iPad using tracking software to the suspect’s residence. The 14-year-old suspect was arrested without incident. During questioning, the juvenile admitted to committing five burglaries and was charged with those five burglaries. It was also determined that the bike the juvenile had been riding when he was arrested was stolen; the juvenile was also charged with the bicycle theft. On May 10, the juvenile attempted a burglary of a residence and was charged with an additional (attempted) burglary. The juvenile has been charged with the following six burglaries :
