Possible Domestic Abduction and Assault Lookout

Updated Information

Detectives from the 4th District Investigative Section have been investigating a possible domestic abduction that occurred today in the Good Hope area of the County.

At approximately 2:34 p.m. today, police received a call from a witness in the 15700 block of Thompson Road who observed a female who appeared to be semi-conscious and was in a male subject’s Trailblazer. The male made claims to witnesses that he was taking her to a hospital and was seen headed northbound towards Route 198. Through investigation the female has been identified as Sara Ann Schum and the male has been identified as Floyd “Boony” Powell. Schum and Powell were previously involved in a relationship and were seen together this afternoon outside a residence in the 15700 block of Thompson Road.

Investigators have not located Schum at local hospitals and police and family are concerned for her welfare. Police are asking anyone who sees Powell, Schum, or the Chevrolet Trailblazer to call 9-1-1 immediately. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of either Powell or Schum or the Trailblazer should also immediately call 9-1-1. Police are also asking Powell or Schum to contact police so they can confirm Schum’s condition.

Domestic Abduction and Assault Lookout Cancelled

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 4th District Investigative Section have been investigating a possible domestic abduction that occurred on Friday, May 4, in the Good Hope area of the County. Police asked the public to be on the lookout for the possible suspect, victim, and vehicle. On the evening of May 5, the victim contacted a family member who in turn notified the police department. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment for injuries at a local hospital. The Montgomery County Family Crimes Division is now investigating this incident. Anyone who may have observed the subject, victim, or vehicle on May 4 or has any knowledge of this incident is asked to call the Family Crimes Division at 240-773-5400. Callers may remain anonymous.
