Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section are investigating two armed robberies of a Germantown Subway that occurred on January 11 and January 31.

On January 11, at approximately 9:17 p.m., 5th District officers responded to the Subway located at 12601 Wisteria Drive for a report of a robbery. Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the register. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the store.

On January 31, at approximately 9:00 p.m., 5th District officers responded to the same Subway for another report of a robbery. Investigation revealed that the suspect again entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the register. The suspect again obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the store.

Suspect Still at Large

Due to similarities between these two incidents and the suspect descriptions provided by the victim employees, it is believed that the same suspect committed both of these robberies. The suspect is described as a black male, in his late 20’s, 5’9”-6’1” tall, and weighing 150-170 pounds. In both incidents, he was wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, a black jacket, and black pants, and he was armed with a black handgun.

Detectives have obtained surveillance video from the second robbery incident and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

Anyone with information about these robberies and/or the suspect involved is asked to contact the Robbery Section at 240-773-5100. Those who wish to remain anonymous may contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or 240-773-TIPS (8477).
