Sanitary Sewer Overflow in White Oak

LAUREL- (December 21, 2011): A blockage in a sewer main in White Oak caused a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) on Tuesday. It happened in the 1800 block of April Lane.

The SSO started about 12:15 p.m. and ended at approximately 1:30 p.m. It is estimated that 10,000 gallons of wastewater overflowed into the Paint Branch basin.

Notifications have been made to the Maryland Department of the Environment and the Montgomery County Health Department. WSSC crews spread lime in the affected area and posted 10 signs.
