Rockville to Televise Three Candidate Forums
Ten Community Members Will Vie for Mayor and Council Seats on Nov. 8
ROCKVILLE, Md., September 28, 2011- Three forums featuring candidates for the 2011 City of Rockville Mayor and Council elections are scheduled for three week nights in October.
Rockville Channel 11, the City's cable television station, will air the forums in October and will make them available on the City's YouTube channel at
www.youtube.com/cityofrockville.
Each forum is hosted by a randomly selected community group that is independent and nonpartisan, and does not endorse candidates. The sponsoring groups are responsible for inviting candidates, choosing a moderator and format, and deciding what questions to ask.
The three forums, to take place at 7 p.m. in the Mayor and Council Chambers at City Hall, are as follows:
- Thursday, Oct. 13 - The Fallsmead Homes Corporation
- Tuesday, Oct. 25 - League of Women Voters of Montgomery County, Md.
- Thursday, Oct. 27 - The West End Citizen's Association
City of Rockville elections are held every two years, at which time the mayor and four council seats are up for election.
Mayoral Candidates- Phyllis Marcuccio - incumbent
- Piotr "Peter" Gajewski - incumbent councilmember
Eight will vie for the four council seats. They are:- Les Francis

- John F. Hall Jr.
- Tom Moore
- Bridget Donnell Newton - incumbent
- Virginia Onley
- Mark Pierzchala - incumbent
- Dion Trahan
