Police Seek Help in Identifying
Theft from Vehicle Suspects

Detectives from the 4th District Petty Crimes Unit have been investigating a theft from a vehicle in the 1700 block of Arbor View Road in Silver Spring. Today, detectives are releasing video of the suspects involved in this incident and video of the suspects’ vehicle.

On August 3, 2011, a resident in the 1700 block of Arbor View Road in Silver Spring reported that between the hours of 11:00 p.m. on August 2 and 12:00 p.m. on August 3, someone had entered the victim’s vehicle while it was parked in the driveway. Personal items were stolen from the vehicle to include the victim’s credit cards. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked at the time of the theft.

Detectives from the 4th District Petty Crimes Unit determined that the victim’s credit card had been used in the Largo and Capitol Heights areas shortly after the theft. Detectives were able to obtain video of two suspects using the victim’s credit cards at a store. Detectives were also able to obtain video of the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle is described as a white SUV, possibly a Dodge Durango. The vehicle is distinctive as it has dark racing stripes on the front, top, and rear of the vehicle.
