Press Event: State calls attention to extensive stream restoration work in association with ICC ***UPDATE: August 10 date CANCELLED; to be rescheduled in September

The State Highway Adminstration (MSHA) will be having a media event to showcase one of its compensatory mitigation projects - the "NW 160/170 stream" restoration. The event will be held on Wednesday, [CANCELLED:]August 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. It will be held at the NW 160 stream restoration site in Northwest Branch Park. Vehicles will be able to access the site from Bonifant Road, east of the mainline ICC, just downstream of temporary bridge 3.

This will be part of an effort to better educate the public about the extreme measures that are being taken to protect and enhance the environment as a result of the Intercounty Connector (ICC)/MD200. This event is an opportunity to recognize the unprecedented level of agency involvement in the planning and construction of the ICC and the commitment MSHA made to protecting and mitigating the impacts to the environment.
