County Recognizes Excellence in Recycling Achievement During Recycling Awareness Week 2011

Outstanding achievements in recycling, waste reduction, reuse, buying recycled-content products and educational efforts by local businesses, organizations, multi-family properties, residents and individuals were recognized by the County Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Solid Waste Services (DSWS) as part of its annual Recycling Awareness Week activities.

Honorees were announced at the annual Recycling Achievement Recognition Program held at the Silver Spring Civic Building on May 26.

Awards were presented in the following categories to the winners listed:

Outstanding Leadership Efforts to Increase Recycling Awareness

Six individuals were recognized for their efforts to increase overall awareness of recycling to others in the community.
