State of the City Address Highlights
Accomplishments, Challenges

Gaithersburg, MD (April 27, 2011). Gaithersburg Mayor Sidney Katz and members of the City Council hosted the annual State of the City address on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Asbury Methodist Village. More than 200 guests attended the reception and presentation, including civic partners who serve on City boards, commissions and committees, elected officials, community leaders, members of the media, and others whose involvement is invaluable to the Gaithersburg community.

In his annual address, Mayor Katz outlined accomplishments from the past year and spoke of challenges and opportunities facing Gaithersburg in the months and years to come. His remarks are available online at www.gaithersburgmd.gov.

The evening also included the screening of a new video, Building On Our Success. Created by the City’s Cable TV Division, the production focuses on economic development, highlighting the many housing and commercial projects currently underway, and other initiatives designed to spur the local economy.

The Mayor’s address and the video will be available for viewing on Gaithersburg’s Cable TV channel, GTV, as of May 2. GTV can be found on Comcast and RCN channels 13 and FiOS channel 25 within the City limits. The full program will also be viewable on the City’s website at www.gaithersburgmd.gov/tv.
