Montgomery County Public Libraries Celebrates National Library Week; Branches Host a

Montgomery County Public Libraries will celebrate National Library Week – April 15 – 21 – with a variety of programs throughout the system.

Sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA), National Library Week has been observed since 1958. It celebrates the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers across the country and promotes library use and support.

Locally, County Executive Isiah Leggett and the County Council will proclaim “Library Week” in Montgomery County. The proclamation notes that nearly 700 staff members provide daily services to more than 568,000 library customers (approximately 60 percent of the county’s total population).
