Ride On's Annual Food Drive Switches to April; Donate Food and Take Ride On Bus for F

Ride On bus passengers in Montgomery County can help needy families and receive free bus rides by donating canned or nonperishable food during Ride On’s annual food drive. A free trip will be provided to riders who donate food from Monday, April 16 through Sunday, April 22.

“The ‘Give and Ride’ program is a wonderful opportunity for bus riders to conveniently help other Montgomery County residents who are going hungry and for the County to recognize the donors’ generosity,” said Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett. “It’s a great way to show our community spirit by giving and sharing.”

For the past 20 years, Ride On collected food at Thanksgiving. However, food donation centers tend to receive more food than they can store during the winter holiday season.
