Leggett, Van Hollen, Councilmembers and other Officials to Hold Groundbreaking Cerem

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will join federal, state and local officials in a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Glenmont Metro parking garage. The garage will be a LEED certified building, helping the county attain its sustainability goals. This second garage at Glenmont Station, which will be located on the west side of Georgia Avenue, will add an additional 1,200 parking spaces. When the garage is completed, there will be 3,000 parking spaces available at the Glenmont Metro Station.

Joining Leggett will be Montgomery County Council President Valerie Ervin and Councilmembers Nancy Floreen and Roger Berliner, U.S. Congressman Chris Van Hollen and Metro Interim General Manager Richard Sarles.

Directions and Parking: Parking for the event will be available in the former Kiss & Ride lot on the west side of Georgia Avenue. The lot can be accessed from Glenallan Avenue.
