Artistic Opportunities Bethesda Fine Arts Festival The 8th annual Bethesda Fine Arts Festival has 150 booth spaces available for original fine art and fine craft vendors from all over the country. The festival was ranked #78 on Sunshine Artist's list of top 200 shows in 2008! The deadline to apply is Friday, Dec. 10! Bethesda Painting Awards Calling all Painters from Maryland, D.C., and Virginia! The Bethesda Painting Awards is downtown Bethesda's annual juried art competition that exclusively honors painters from Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C with $14,000 in prize monies. The application for the 2011 Bethesda Painting Awards is now available. The deadline to apply is Friday, February 25, 2011. Call for Entries Bethesda Fine Arts Festival Application Dec. 10 Bethesda Painting Awards Application Feb. 25, 2011 Bethesda Essay & Short Story Contest Feb. 25, 2011 Literary Opportunity The Bethesda Urban Partnership and Bethesda Magazine are honoring writers at the Bethesda Literary Festival. Adults and young adults can write a 500-word essay or a 4,000-word short story for the Essay & Short Story Contest.  The first place winners receive $500 and will be published in Bethesda Magazine; second place  with $250; third place with $150; and honorable mentions will be awarded $75. Winning essays and short stories will be published on the Bethesda Magazine and Bethesda Urban Partnership Web sites and will be honored at an event during the Bethesda Literary Festival, held April 15-17, 2011. Entries must be received by Friday, Feb. 25, 2011.
