MCP Motor Squad’s “Santa Ride”
Benefits Children’s Inn at NIH
Montgomery County Police motor officers are collecting donations from all six police districts, area businesses, and private citizens to purchase gift cards from area stores to assist families residing at the Inn who need to purchase food and supplies during their stays. The funds also provide gifts for the children staying at the Inn while receiving treatment at NIH. Anyone who would like to make a donation can send a check made payable to The Children’s Inn NIH to Sgt. Thomas Harmon, MCP 3rd District Station, 801 Sligo Avenue, Silver Spring, MD. 20910.
The riders gather at 9:00 a.m. at the 1st District Police Station at 1451 Seven Locks Road in Rockville. They will arrive at Police Headquarters at approximately 10:00 a.m. The ride will include stops at all six MCP District Stations and the Executive Office Building in Rockville at 12:30 where they will greet Police Chief Tom Manger. It will conclude at approximately 5:00 p.m. when the officers enter the Bethesda NIH campus through the West Drive entrance off of Cedar Lane.
A Santa Ride itinerary will be available Monday morning, December 13. The officers will complete their ride at NIH, meeting the children in front of the Inn and then going inside to allow the children to spend time with Santa and the officers.
