G1 Beat:

• An attempted robbery/sexual assault occurred in the area of Spring Street and Second Avenue, Silver Spring on Wednesday, 11/3 at 8:00 p.m. The suspect pushed the adult female victim down and demanded money. The suspect then attempted to remove the victim’s clothing. The suspect fled on foot. A lookout was placed and the suspect was detained.
Arrested: Male, age 24.

• A commercial robbery occurred at the 7-11, 8455 Colesville Road, Silver Spring on Wednesday, 11/3 at 4:35 a.m. The suspect approached the counter, asked the employee for cigarettes, implied he had a gun, and threatened the employee. The suspect then took several packs of cigarettes before fleeing out the door. A witness observed him fleeing the scene in the listed vehicle.
Suspect: B/M, 40-55 years, 5’9” to 5’11”, 200-220 lbs.;
Vehicle: White 4-Door Vehicle.

• An armed robbery/assault occurred in the area of Wayne Avenue and Dale Drive, Silver Spring on Saturday, 11/6 at 10:30 p.m. The suspects approached the adult male victim, assaulted him, chased him when he attempted to flee, and took personal property. One suspect was armed with a knife. The suspects fled on foot.
Suspects: (3) B/M’s, 14-16, 5’6” to 5’8”, 120-130 lbs., wearing puffy jackets (red, grey and black).

• An armed robbery occurred at a traffic light at Bonifant Street and Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring on Tuesday, 11/9 at 11:25 p.m. The suspect approached a cab, opened the door, displayed a gun and demanded cash. The cab driver complied and the suspect fled on foot.
Suspect: B/M, 25 years; Subjects observed leaving area: (3) B/M’s, 5’2” to 6”, dark clothing.

• A residential burglary occurred in the 7900 block of Takoma Avenue, Takoma Park on Tuesday, 11/2 between 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Forced entry; property was taken.


G2 Beat:

• A robbery occurred in the area of Ellsworth Drive and Woodside Parkway, Silver Spring on Friday 11/5 at 7:55 p.m. The suspects approached an 18-year-old male and two juveniles, surrounded them, and demanded property. One suspect reached into his pocket to imply a weapon but none was displayed. The suspects fled after obtaining property.
Suspects: (3) B/M’s, 16-18 years, 5’6” to 5’8”, wearing dark clothing;
(1) W/M, 18 years, 5’9” wearing a black mask, black jacket and jeans.

• A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday, 11/3 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the 1000 block of Stirling Road, Silver Spring. No forced entry; property was taken.

• A residential burglary occurred between noon on Wednesday, 11/3 and 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, 11/4 in the 9700 block of Dallas Avenue, Silver Spring. No forced entry; property was taken.
Suspect: B/M, 5’11 -6’2”;
Vehicle: Green 4 Door, described as a newer model.

• A residential burglary occurred on Thursday, 11/4 at 9:00 a.m. in the 2000 block of Hanover Street, Silver Spring. No forced entry; property was taken.
Suspect: B/M, 20-30, 5’11 to 6’2, wearing a green vest, blue shirt carrying a tool box.

• Twelve thefts from vehicles occurred between Tuesday, 11/2 and Tuesday, 11/9 in the beat on multiple nights. These incidents occurred during the late evening to early morning hours and in nine of the incidents the suspects entered unlocked/open doors or windows. Computers, cash, cell phones, cameras, and GPS units were targeted. Streets affected in the initial incidents included, Garwood Street, Normandy Drive, Mintwood Street, Whitney Street, Brunett Avenue, Hamilton Avenue, Mansion Drive and Granville Drive, all in Silver Spring.
Arrested: Male, age 22; Male, age 23.


H1 Beat:

• An armed robbery/aggravated assault occurred in front of an apartment building in the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace, Silver Spring on Friday, 11/5 at 8:50 p.m. The suspects approached the adult male victim and demanded money. When the victim advised that he had no cash he was struck with a gun. The suspects fled on foot after obtaining the victim’s wallet.
Suspects: (2) B/M’s, 13-18, wearing black hat, dark clothing.

• An aggravated assault occurred at the Flower Deli, 8707 Flower Avenue, Silver Spring on Friday, 11/5 at 10:40 p.m. A male suspect, armed with a butcher knife, threatened employees. The suspect fled out the front door; no one was injured.
Suspect: B/M, 45-49 years, 6”, 160-170 lbs.;
Vehicle: light blue pickup truck.


H2 Beat:

• No significant activity to report.


I1 Beat:

• A carjacking occurred in a parking lot in the 11600 block of Lockwood Drive, Silver Spring on Tuesday, 11/9 at 8:43 p.m. The suspect approached the adult female victim and demanded the victim’s car keys. A struggle ensued, and the suspect implied that he had a weapon. The victim gave the suspect the keys and he fled the area in her vehicle.
Suspect: B/M, 18-25 years, 6’1”, wearing a Grey hoodie and sweat pants;
Carjacked Vehicle: 2010 Toyota Venza SUV;
Suspect Vehicle: 4-Door Lexus, White.

• An aggravated assault occurred off of school property but near Springbrook High School, 201 Valley Brook Drive, Silver Spring on Thursday, 11/4 at 7:26 a.m. One student was arrested and a second is still at-large after they threatened another student with a gun during a fight.
Arrested: Male, 17 years, from Burtonsville;
Suspect: B/M, 17 years.

• A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, 11/2 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Milestone Drive, Silver Spring. Forced entry; unknown if property was taken.

• A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, 11/2 between 2:00 p.m. and 8:49 p.m. in the 1700 block of Priscilla Drive, Silver Spring. No forced entry. Nothing was taken.

• An attempted residential burglary occurred on Monday, 11/8 between 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the 11500 block of Stewart Lane, Silver Spring. Attempted forced entry; no entry gained, nothing was taken.

• A commercial burglary occurred at the Fairland Market, 13318 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring on Wednesday, 11/3 at 4:15 a.m. Forced entry; property was taken.
Suspect: W/M, 20-30 years, 5’8” to 5’11”, 160-185lbs., wearing a grey hoodie and gloves.


I2 Beat:

• A strong-arm robbery occurred on Monday, 11/1 at 4:00 p.m. in the 14000 block of Castle Boulevard. The suspects approached the 16-year-old victim, who was walking from a bus stop, grabbed him and took personal property. They fled on foot.
Suspects: (3) B/M’s, one subject described as bald, wearing a blue jacket, a second suspect described as having dreadlocks, ring and a dark hoodie

• A strong-arm robbery occurred in a parking lot in the 3900 block of Blackburn Lane, Burtonsville on Sunday, 11/7 at 9:20 p.m. The victim, a cab driver, drove the suspects to a lot on Lockwood Drive and back to the Blackburn location when one of the suspects put on a mask, displayed a gun, threatened him, and demanded property. The victim complied and the suspects fled.
Suspects: (2) B/M’s, 20-29 years, 5’8” to 5’10”, one wore a mask; second suspect described as having a cast on his foot and walking with a crutch.

• A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday, 11/3 between 7:26 p.m. and 8:08 p.m. in the 14500 block of Mcknew Road, Burtonsville. No forced entry; property was taken.

• A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, 11/9 between 6:00 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. in the 13900 block of Castle Boulevard, Silver Spring. Forced entry; property was taken.
