African-American Health Program Receives National Accreditation;
Diabetes Education Class Series Recognized

     Montgomery County’s African American Health Program (AAHP) Diabetes Self-Management Education Class Series recently received accreditation from the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
     “The African American Health Program salutes our team members and outstanding community partners,” said Darlene Coles, Project Director for the AAHP. “The program met the high standards required for national recognition and received a four year accreditation.”
     The class series began in July 2003 and has served approximately 750 County residents with education and information on diabetes prevention and making healthier dietary and lifestyle choices. The Diabetes Team will be recognized this evening during a class session
