County Officials Urge Residents to Drop-Off Used and Expired Prescription Drugs Saturday; Police Participate in “Prescription Drug Take-Back Day” at Two Locations Saturday

Montgomery County health officials and the Montgomery County Police Department urge residents to drop off expired, used or unwanted prescription drugs in Rockville and Bethesda on Saturday, September 25, as part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

Drop-off locations will be at the following locations:

• Montgomery County Police Headquarters, 2350 Research Boulevard, Rockville

• Second District Police Station,7359 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda

Collection hours will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at each location. Look for police officers with collection boxes in the parking lots.

“Getting rid of unwanted and unused prescription medicine is important so that children don’t have access to them and so that adults aren’t taking out-of-date medication,” said Dr. Ulder J. Tillman, County health officer.
