A Montgomery County police officer was indicted by a Grand Jury on one count of misdemeanor second-degree assault stemming from a March 3rd arrest in Silver Spring.

The US Food and Drug Administration issued an urgent egg recall this week. The nationwide recall has continued to expand. Eggs in their shells may put consumers at risk for Salmonella.

Several new road projects started this week or will begin this coming week. Projects will affect areas in Aspen Hill, Sandy Spring, Bethesda, Burnt Mills, Damascus, Rockville, and Potomac.

Registration is now open for the 2010 Junior Achievement Essay Competition. This fall, Junior Achievement invites students from the Greater Washington Region to compete for $100,000 in scholarships. The competition is open to any student in the 9th-12th grade in the Greater Washington Region from August 16 - September 30, 2010
