Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Germantown. Detectives are now releasing surveillance photos from the robbery.
On July 24 at approximately 11:00 a.m., officers from the 5th district responded to the M and T bank located at 21006 Frederick Road in Germantown for a bank robbery that had just occurred. The preliminary investigation revealed that a male suspect entered the bank, posed as a customer, and handed a note to the teller demanding cash. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled from the bank on foot. No weapon was displayed nor was anyone injured.
Suspect Still at Large
The suspect is described as a white male, 5’02” tall, between 40 and 50-years-old, and weighing approximately 120 pounds. He was wearing dark blue shorts, a gray shirt with black stripes, and a khaki colored baseball cap.
Anyone who has information about this suspect and/or bank robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.
