Concert in the SquareConcert in the Square features the region's best musical entertainment. Every Thursday, from 6-8 p.m., the plaza hosts a variety of music. Blaggards perform country rock June 17. Bring your lawn chair and blanket for the area's best free concert series. Next week, its Joker's Wild.
Gibbs sculptureLincoln Park Historical Foundation and the Rockville Historical District Commission will co-sponsor the annual Juneteenth celebration June 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Lincoln Park Community Center. Bus will board at 9 a.m. Take a bus tour of African American sites in Rockville and attend a reception.
creek exploringStudents ages 10-13 can join friends and explore with Potomac Safari, a laboratory and field trip program for highly motivated students that will take place 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. July 19-30 at Julius West Middle School. Registration open now.
KickballGet some friends together or meet new ones in a new Adult Co-Rec Kickball League, when you can play like a kid again. League play begins Thursday, Sept. 9. Join as an individual, a group (when you have several players, but not enough for a team) or a team.
Patio performancesThe Rockville Concert Band will perform well-known concert band classics during Patio Performances from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, on the patio behind F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre. Bring a chair or blanket. Performance will be moved indoors if it is raining.
F. Scott TheatreThe Musical Theater Center performs "Thirteen," the story of Evan Goldman who has lived in New York and is preparing for his Bar Mitzvah when his parents separate and he must move to Appleton, Ind. Shows will be held at 7:30 p.m. June 25 and 26, and at 2 p.m. June 26 and 27, at F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre.
