Tips of the Week:
With the end of the school year nearing, many residents may be planning summer vacation. To help ensure that your vacation is safe, the Rockville City Police Department has provided a vacation Crime Prevention Tips:
Hotel and Motel Security- If you are staying in a hotel or motel, take all your luggage and valuables to your room. Do not leave valuables inside your vehicle.
- Never leave money, checks, credit cards, car keys or valuables in the room. Take them with you.
- Determine the most direct route to and from your room, to the fire escapes, elevators and nearest telephone.
- Keep daily checks on your belongings
- Unpack and place belongings in the closet and dresser. Arrange your things so you’ll know if anything is missing.
- Report any lost or stolen items to the hotel/motel management and to the police.
Sight-Seeing- Ask for directions at the hotel/motel on how to get to those attractions you want to visit.
- If you are going out in an unfamiliar area, ask the hotel clerk if there are areas you should avoid.
- Select tour guides carefully. Get recommendations – visit local government agencies or chambers of commerce.
- Do not advertise that you are a tourist. Don’t look lost or vulnerable. Walk with a purpose and stay alert to what is happening around you. If you get lost, find an open business and ask for directions.
- Do not leave brochures, maps inside your vehicle in plain view. Place them in your glove box or trunk.
- Only carry with you the cash you will need, and only in small denominations. If older children go off separately, be sure they understand the importance of keeping track of time and returning promptly at the appropriate hours.

ILLEGAL DRUG ARRESTS- 05/18/10-(3:30 a.m. – 3:40 a.m.) Antoine Rossanna Mackall, M, age 52, of Rockville, was arrested for possession of CDS-paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the 7400 of Westmore Road. During the course of the investigation it was learned that Mr. Mackall had an outstanding warrant through Montgomery County Police. Mr. Mackall was issued the Criminal Citation for the CDS violation and transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing of the outstanding warrant.
- 05/27/10-(8:20 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.) Abraham Garcia Ramos, M, age 19, of Rockville, was arrested for possession of CDS-cocaine and possession of CDS-paraphernalia following a complaint at the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Meadow Hall Drive. Mr. Ramos was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
- 05/30/10-(5:15 p.m. – 5:17 p.m.) Male juvenile, age 17, of Rockville, was arrested for possession of CDS-marijuana and possession of CDS-paraphernalia, following a complaint in the100 block of Rockville Pike. The male juvenile was transported to the Montgomery County Police Department’s 1st District Station for processing and later transported to the Rockville City Police Department to be released into custody of his mother.
- 05/31/10-(1:36 a.m. – 1:48 a.m.) Dameaus Fidelionte Miliner, M, age 31, of Woodbridge, Virginia, was arrested for possession of CDS-PCP and possession of CDS-paraphernalia following a complaint in the 500 block of Denham Road. Mr. Miliner was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
- 06/03/10-(2:58 p.m.-3:20 p.m.) Aaron Clayton Phillips, M, age 20, of Rockville, was arrested for possession of CDS-marijuana and possession of CDS-paraphernalia following in the 300 block of Martins Lane. Mr. Phillips was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
- 06/04/10-(10:59 p.m.) Joseph Ryan Sherrod, M, age 24, and Adam Lax, M, age 24, both of Rockville, was arrested for: Mr. Sherrod for possession of CDS-paraphernalia and possession of CDS-marijuana, and Mr. Lax for possession of CDS-paraphernalia following a complaint in the unit block of Templar Court. Mr. Sherrod was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing. Mr. Lax was issued a criminal citation and released.
ASSAULT ARRESTS- 05/29/10-(4:25 a.m.) Derek Ian McKinney, M, age 33, of Rockville, was arrested for 2nd degree assault in the 900 block of North Stonestreet Avenue. Mr. McKinney was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
- 06/01/10-(9:34 p.m.) Ashley Anne Holmes, F, age 26, of Rockville, was arrested for 2nd degree assault following a complaint in the 600 block of Azalea Drive. Ms. Holmes was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
- 06/05/10-(7:26 p.m.) Edward Fultz, M, age 23, of Rockville, was arrested for 2nd degree assault following a complaint in the 300 block of Seth Place. Mr. Fultz was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
BURGLARY- 05/27/10-06/02/10-(9:00 a.m. – 10:04 a.m.) Jason Theodore Faulkner, M, age 35, of Rockville, was arrested for 1st degree burglary, and possession of a concealed deadly weapon (switchblade) in the 900 block of Wade Avenue. During the course of the investigation Mr. Faulkner was also charged with 1st degree burglary and theft for an incident that occurred earlier in the 5800 block of Vandegrift Avenue. Mr. Faulkner was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
THEFT ARREST- 06/02/10-(5:00 p.m. – 5:09 p.m.) Kenneth Joseph Barnhouse, M, age 27, of Rockville, was arrested for theft following a complaint in the 1900 block of Veirs Mill Road. Mr. Barnhouse was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
- 06/04/10-(4:15 a.m.) Won Gyoo Park, M, age 49, of Germantown, was arrested for theft following a complaint in the 2100 block of Veirs Mill Road. Mr. Park was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
OTHER ARRESTS- 05/18/10-(4:25 p.m.) John Charles, M, age 38, of no fixed address, was arrested for trespassing following a complaint in the 1500 block of Research Boulevard. Mr. Charles was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
- 05/26/10-(11:11 a.m.) Russell Pierce, M, age 50, of Rockville, was arrested for trespassing following a complaint in the 300 block of Hungerford Drive. Mr. Pierce was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
- 05/27/10-(1:24 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.) Robert Alexander Villeges, M, age 27, of Rockville, was arrested for obstructing and hindering a police investigation and making a false statement to a police officer following a complaint in the 1900 block of Veirs Mill Road. MR. Villeges was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
- 05/30/10-(10:53 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.) Theodore Michael Colucci, M, age 21, of Chevy Chase, was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following a complaint in the 500 block of North Horners Lane. Mr. Colucci was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
- 05/31/10-(10:45 p.m. – 10:47 p.m.) Ricardo Espinoza, M, age 18, of Rockville, was arrested for disorderly conduct following a complaint in the 100 block of Gibbs Street. Mr. Espinoza was transported to the Central Processing for processing.
- 06/03/10-(9:20 p.m. – 9:25 p.m.) Elijah Jones, Jr., M, age 32, of Laurel, was arrested for possession of an open container of alcohol in public and for littering following a complaint in the 100 block of North Stonestreet Avenue. Mr. Jones was issued criminal citations and released.
- 06/03/10-(9:50 p.m.) Shannon Marie Carver, F, age 33, of no fixed address, was arrested for disorderly conduct following a complaint in the 700 block of Hungerford Drive. Mr. Carver was transported to the Central Processing Unit for processing.
- 06/04/10-(3:36 p.m. – 3:40 p.m.) William Taylor Hubbard, M, age 56, of Germantown, was arrested for possession of an open container of alcohol in public following a complaint in the 700 block of Hungerford Drive. Mr. Hubbard was issued a criminal citation and released.
- 06/04/10-(5:30 p.m. – 5:35 p.m.) Taylor Ivan Johnson, M, age 21, of Rockville, was arrested for possession of an open container of alcohol in public following a complaint in the 2100 block of Veirs Mill Road. Mr. Johnson was issued a criminal citation and released.
- 06/04/10-(9:50 p.m.) Female juvenile, age 16, of Silver Spring and a Female juvenile, age 17, of Wheaton, were arrested for possession of alcohol by a minor following a complaint in the 200 block of Rockville Pike. The 16-year-old female was issued a criminal citation and released into the custody of her mother. The 17-year-old female was transported to the Rockville City Police Department and issued a criminal citation and released into the custody of her mother.
DUI ARRESTS- 06/06/10-(7:53 p.m. – 8:08 p.m.) Benjamin Richard Fisher, M, age 55, of Gaithersburg, was arrested for driving under the influence following a complaint in the 900 block of Maple Avenue. Mr. Fisher was transported to the Rockville City Police Department for processing and released.

- 05/27/10-05/28/10-(9:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) 200 block of Great Falls Road, unknown suspect(s) removed a bag containing 4 baseball helmets with faceguards, a baseball batting helmet with faceguard, a catcher’s mitt, catcher’s gear (chest guard, 2 shin guards, helmet and mask), 12 baseballs and 25 sports first aid kits from an unlocked vehicle.
- 05/30/10-(9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.) 600 block of Lincoln Street, unknown suspect(s) removed a wallet containing U.S. currency, a driver’s license, a credit card and a bank card from an unlocked vehicle.
- 05/31/10-(12:27 p.m.) Unit block of Maryland Avenue, unknown suspect(s) removed a wallet containing credit cards, jewelry, a checkbook, U.S. currency and a driver’s license from a purse that was hanging by a bar counter in a restaurant.
- 05/31/10-(4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.) 300 block of Martins Lane, unknown suspect(s) removed a wallet containing 3 credit cards, U.S. currency, a driver’s license and ID card, a backpack containing a cell phone, a set of keys and clothing that was left unattended in a locker room at a recreational facility.
- 06/04/10-06/05/10-(9:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.) 100 block of Halpine Road, unknown suspect(s) removed 2 laptops, a camera, a laptop bag, a broadband card, 2 subwoofers and an amplifier from an unlocked vehicle.
- 06/05/10-(6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) 800 block of Wade Avenue, unknown suspect(s) removed two rings and U.S. currency from a residence.

Once inside the unknown suspect(s) removed a computer, a camera, software, sports equipment, a stereo receiver, a video game system, a sewing machine and a laptop.
- 05/17/10-(7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.) 1200 block of Highwood Road, Residential, unknown suspect(s) gained access by unknown means into a residence. Once inside the unknown suspect(s) removed a purse, a wallet, U.S. currency, jewelry, a video game console, video game controller, 2 laptops and a video game.
- 05/24/10-05/26/10-(5:00 p.m. – 6:10 p.m.) 900 block of Maple Avenue, Residential, unknown suspect(s) gained access through an unlocked door to a shed. Once inside the unknown suspect(s) removed a bicycle.
- 05/26/10-05/28/10-(4:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.) 1000 block of Crawford Drive, Residential, unknown suspect(s) gained access through an unlocked front door of a residence. Once inside the unknown suspect(s) removed a camera, 2 lenses and a camera bag.
- 05/27/10-(9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) 5800 block of Vandegrift Avenue, Residential, unknown suspect(s) gained access through a rear opened window of a residence. Once inside the unknown suspect(s) removed two checks.
