Resurfacing of Portions of Muddy Branch Road and Blueridge Avenue to Begin in June

The Division of Highway Services will begin repairing and then resurfacing Muddy Branch Road between Diamondback Drive and Darnestown Road/MD28 in early June, weather permitting. Similarly, Blueridge Avenue between Geaorgia Avenue/MD97 and Amherst Avenue will also be resurfaced starting about the same time.

This work is occuring under Highway's system preservation project that employs long term strategies to preserve and enhance the condition of the county's roadways. This work will typically entail...

* Surveying the roadway for needed repairs

* Full depth patching work

* Making utility adjustments

* Crack sealing

* Pavement milling in the case of Blueridge

* Paving with hot mix asphalt on Blueridge and with micro pave on Muddy Branch.

* Restriping

This work should last about two weeks on Muddy Branch Road and about four weeks on Blueridge Aven ...more
