Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating an attempted armed robbery and stabbing that occurred the night of May 9 in the Lockwood section of Silver Spring.

Last night at 11:16 p.m., 3rd District patrol officers responded to the area of the White Oak shopping center located in the 11220 block of New Hampshire Avenue for the report of an attempted armed robbery and stabbing that had just occurred. The victim was walking in the area when he was approached by two female suspects. One of the suspects attempted to grab the victim’s cellular phone from him. When the victim resisted, the first suspect stabbed him in the side of his chest with a knife. The victim suffered a minor, non-life threatening injury as a result of the stab wound. The suspects then fled from the area.

The first suspect is described as a black female between 16 and 17 years of age, 5’10” tall, and has a “chubby” build. She was last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt, blue jeans, and was armed with a knife at the time of this incident.

The second suspect is described as a black female between 16 and 17 years of age, 5’10” tall, also with a “chubby” build. She was last seen wearing an orange jacket, blue jeans, and was walking a small white dog on a leash.

Anyone who may have information about this armed robbery and/or the suspects responsible is asked to call the 3rd District Investigative Section at 301-565-5835.
