City of Rockville Events April 8 - April 15, 2010 Capture Rockville in Photos Enter the 2010 Environmental Photo Contest. Submit your photos, taken in the city limits of Rockville, that capture what it is you value about Rockville's environment. The deadline is Friday, April 9. Help with a Stream Cleanup Participate in the Potomac River Watershed Cleanup. Pick up trash that washes down local streams. Student Service Learning hours are available. Two clean ups are scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, April 10. Meet at City Hall or Croydon Creek Nature Center. No registration required. Take in a Sampling of the Arts The City of Rockville will host the 12th annual Rockville Arts Sampler Sunday, April 11, at 2 p.m. at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at Rockville Civic Center Park. The sampler features vignettes from a variety of performers, including musicians, actors, dancers and singers. Take a High Tech Treasure Hunt Learn about geocaching and go on a scavenger hunt as a family using GPS from 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday, April 11, ay Croydon Creek Nature Center. Pick up treasures as your family finds each cache that can be used to make a special craft. Cost is $8, residents; $10, nonresidents. Have Your Say on the City's FY11 Budget The first of two public hearings on the Fiscal Year 2011 budget will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, April 12, at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave. Find out everything you need to know about the Fiscal Year 2011 budget process, read the proposed budget and catch up on preview work sessions. Rockville Celebrates Arbor Day Rockville will commemorate Arbor Day with a tree planting event at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Woodley Gardens Park. Trees will be planted around the new playground. Rockville Moms Central and their children will assist with the tree planting.
