Identity Released for Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Rockville

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are continuing to investigate the fatal pedestrian collision that occurred yesterday evening in Rockville.

Saturday, March 3, at approximately 7:06 p.m., officers from the 1st District were called to the area of Frederick Road (Rt. 355)) and Redland Road, for the report of a struck pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation revealed that three adult males were crossing the northbound lanes of Frederick Road at Redland Road. The pedestrians were in the crosswalk; however, they were crossing against the traffic signal.

The victim, Michael Anthony Griffin, age 23, of the 18400 block of Muncaster Road in Derwood, was struck by a blue 1990 Honda Prelude, driven by Roberto Carlos Blanco 25, of the 2200 block of Weatherburn Way in Frederick.
