G1 Beat:

• A rape occurred in the 8400 block of Fenton Street in Silver Spring on Friday, 8/7 at 6:52 p.m. It is not known if the suspect and victim are known to one another. The suspect was arrested at the scene.
Arrested: Male, age 42, of no fixed address

• A strong-arm robbery occurred in the area of 600 Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring on Monday, 8/3 at 10:10 p.m. The adult female victim was approached by the suspects, who knocked her down, snatched her purse and fled on foot.
Suspects: (2) B/Ms, 16-10 years, 5’10”- 6”, 170 – 180 lbs., one wore dark clothing

• A commercial burglary occurred at the Symbral Foundation, 914 Silver Spring Avenue in Silver Spring between Thursday, 8/6 at 9:00 p.m. and Friday, 8/7 at 7:00 a.m. Forced entry. Nothing was taken.


G2 Beat:

• An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 1500 block of Live Oak Drive in Silver Spring on Monday, 8/3 at 10:45 a.m. Attempted forced entry, no entry was gained, nothing was taken.

• A residential burglary occurred in the 8900 block of 1st Avenue in Silver Spring on Wednesday, 8/5 between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. no forced entry, property taken.

• A residential shed burglary occurred in the 1700 block of Highland Drive in Silver Spring between Wednesday, 8/5 at 4:00 p.m. and Thursday, 8/6 at 7:30 a.m. Forced entry, property taken.

• Six thefts from vehicles occurred between Monday, 8/3 and Wednesday, 8/5 during overnight hours. Small electronics and money were targeted. Entry methods varied from doors left unlocked to broken windows. Locations included:

• 100 block of Hilltop Road
• Eaton Road and Wayne Avenue
• 9100 Bradford Road
• 9000 block Walden Road
• 2100 block Bonnywood Lane

H1 Beat:

• An armed robbery occurred in the 500 block of Domer Avenue in Takoma Park on Friday, 8/7 at 12:00 a.m. The suspect approached two victims, produced a knife and demanded property. One victim fled on foot, the suspect then chased her, snatched her purse and fled on foot.
Suspect: H/M, 20-23 years, 5’10”- 6’00”, black shirt, armed with knife

• An aggravated assault occurred in the 8600 block of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring on Wednesday, 8/5 at 10:10 p.m. During a dispute between roommates, the suspect displayed a knife and threatened to kill the victim. The suspect chased the victim out of the residence. The adult male suspect returned to the residence and was arrested.
Arrested: Male, age 21, from Silver Spring


H2 Beat:

• A strong-arm robbery occurred along New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring on Saturday, 8/8 at 1:00 a.m. The victim was walking when he was approached by a female suspect, who asked the male victim if he could help her with her car. She led the victim down a foot path at Cottrel Terrace
in Silver Spring where the male victim was attacked by other male suspects, who demanded property and beat him. Suspects took personal property.
Suspect #1: B/F
Suspect #2: B/M, 5’8”- 6’0”, dreadlocks/twists, diamond earring
Suspects #3-5: B/M

• An aggravated assault occurred in the 1400 block of Hampshire West Court in Silver Spring on Thursday, 8/6 at 9:00 p.m. The suspects approached the victims and an argument ensued between the two groups. The defendant swung a knife at the victims and threatened everyone. The group of victims stated that the incident was a neighborhood fight. A suspect was later arrested.
Arrested: Male, 19 years, from Hampton, VA

• A domestic aggravated assault occurred in the 200 block of Whitmoor Terrace in Silver Spring on Saturday, 8/8 at 10:00 a.m. The adult male victim went to his ex-wife’s residence. A dispute ensued when the male suspect opened the door, held a machete to the victim’s face and told him to leave. The suspect was arrested at the scene.
Arrested: Male, age 39, from Silver Spring

• An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 10000 block of Lorain Avenue in Silver Spring on Tuesday, 8/4 between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Attempted forced entry. Nothing was taken.


I1 Beat:

• An aggravated assault occurred in the 11500 block of February Circle in Silver Spring on Thursday, 8/6 at 2:30 p.m. Two female family members were involved in a dispute during which the suspect, armed with a butcher knife, threatened to kill the victim. The suspect also assaulted arriving officers before they arrested her at the scene.
Arrested: Female, age 18, from Silver Spring

• A residential burglary occurred in the 2100 block of Harlequin Terrace in Silver Spring between Friday, 8/7 at 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8/8 at 12:45 p.m. Forced entry, property taken.

• Twelve thefts from vehicles occurred in Silver Spring. Most of the vehicles were unlocked or the windows were broken. The targeted items were small electronics and other loose items. The incidents occurred on multiple nights between Monday, 8/3 and Monday, 8/10. the locations included:

• 2100 block of Harlequin Terrace
• 11600 block of Lockwood Drive
• 11500 block of Sutherland Hill Way
• 1600 block of White Oak Vista Drive
• 12300 block of New Hampshire Avenue
• 1700 block of Featherwood Street
• 1700 block of Chiswick Court
• 11500 block of February Circle
• 11400 block of Lockwood Drive
• 1500 block of Hadden Manor Court
• 12000 block of Bronzegate Place

• A vehicle was stolen in the 11200 block of oak leaf Drive in Silver Spring on Monday, 8/3 between 9:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Taken: 1999 red Plymouth Voyager.

• An attempted vehicle theft occurred in the 1500 block of November Circle in Silver Spring between Monday, 8/3 at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, 8/4 at 8:00 a.m. Not successful.

• An attempted vehicle theft occurred in the 11600 block of Lockwood Drive between Tuesday, 8/4 at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 8/5 at 10:00 a.m. Not successful.

• A vehicle was stolen in the 11100 block of Columbia pike in Silver Spring on Wednesday, 8/5 between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Taken: 1993 black Acura.


I2 Beat:

• A residential burglary occurred in the 13700 block of Colgate Way in Silver Spring on Monday, 8/3 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:43 p.m. Forced entry, unknown if property was taken.

• An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 3800 block of Lansdale Court in Burtonsville on Tuesday, 8/4 at 1:48 p.m. The victim responded to a banging at her front door and saw the suspect attempting to break the lock. He fled when he realized he was observed.
Suspect: W/M, 40-50 years, 5’10”, 200 Ibs.
Vehicle: White, NFD
