Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County Maryland, Inc. Volunteer E-News August, 2009 | | | | Build Days | | PLEASE NOTE: Not all of these days are open for registration at this time. Opening the days on a rolling basis allows for the most folks to sign up! | | | | Construction Volunteer Update | | Phew! You guys are really working hard. Our homes are really moving along quickly. You might not be quite as fast as this group, but you are pretty speedy! This is only slightly related to construction BUT...make sure you, your family and your pets stay safe during these hot and steamy summer days. Please remember to drink plenty of water even if you are not exerting yourself and take breaks so your body can keep up with your activities. Your pets are also very vulnerable so take shorter walks during cooler portions of the day and in shady areas if possible. And remember that your dog doesn't wear shoes so be mindful of walking on hot pavement or sharp stones that might injure their pads. The build days are located to the left of this message!  | | | | | 09-09-09 BE THERE! | |  On Wednesday, September 9, 2009 Whole Foods Market will donate 5% of their Montgomery County sales to HfH-MC. We will be at all four Montgomery County Whole Foods Market showing our Habitat pride, spreading the word about our work, and thanking people for their support. Click here for an informational flyer. We need about 84 volunteers to help us on 09-09-09. Can we count on you? Think if you can... - Organize a group to cover a store for the day (21 volunteers total, 7 volunteers per shift minimum)
- Organize a group to cover one shift in a store (7 volunteers doing one 3 hour shift)
- Help us recruit even one volunteer to come on their own and cover a shift
To sign up... Volunteer shifts are three hours long. Shifts start at 10am, 1pm or 4pm and you can sign up for more than one shift.
