Montgomery County officials will kick off the Long Branch-Takoma Park Business Alliance for Latino-owned business establishments in an on-going campaign that includes state-certified alcohol awareness training offered in Spanish to servers and sellers at 132 establishments. Other components of the Business Alliance program are the “Extra Eyes” program, where trained community members work with area police as part of a collaborative effort to reduce alcohol-related crime; and the “Cops in Shops” program, a unique partnership between retailers and law enforcement designed to deter youth under 21 from purchasing alcohol. |
