Assault and Armed Robbery in Chevy Chase

Detectives from the 2nd District Investigative Section are investigating an armed robbery that occurred yesterday in Chevy Chase.

At approximately 6:20 a.m., the 67-year-old male victim from Chevy Chase, was walking northbound on Connecticut Avenue at Quincy Street when he was approached by two unknown males. They asked the victim for cash, but he said that he didn’t have any. They asked for his wallet, and he refused. The suspects then stuck him several times with a pipe, possibly a tire iron or crow bar. The suspects fled in a northbound direction on Connecticut Avenue, after they took the victim’s wallet.

The suspects are described as Hispanic males, both approximately 20 years old and both 5’8” to 5’10” tall with medium builds. One suspect was wearing a black backpack, black hooded-jacket, dark shoes, light gray pants and a white sweatshirt worn under the jacket.
