Leggett to Join Federal, State and Local Elected Officials at Asian American Health C

County Executive Isiah Leggett will provide welcoming remarks to more than 300 community health advocates, health care providers and policy makers at the all-day conference to address health disparities in the Asian American community. Participants include researchers, leaders and innovators from around the country. Keynote speaker for the conference is Dr. Arthur Chen, chief medical officer of the Alameda (California) Alliance for Health. The Alliance is a non-profit entity serving more than 90,000 low-income residents of Alameda County.

The conference theme, “A Time for Change: Transforming Opportunities into Action” will foster proactive leadership and practical applications. Themes for the workshops are: Increasing Knowledge and Raising Awareness of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Measures, Expanding Access to Quality Healthcare, Broadening Partnerships and Collaborations, and Enhancing Data Collection and Reporting.
