Environmental Protection Director Bob Hoyt to Participate on Panel About Community Partnerships to Manage Invasive Species- Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection Director Bob Hoyt will participate in a panel discussion on effective community partnerships during a seminar entitled, “Conservation Partnering: Invasive Species Management as a Successful Watershed Protection Partnership.” The free seminar is targeted to community members, students, nonprofit employees, military personnel, government officials, business owners, land owners and others. It will be held on April 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Naval Support Facility Carderock, Building 40, 9500 MacArthur Boulevard, West Bethesda. It is organized and funded by the Department of Defense Legacy Resource Management Program, the U.S. Department of the Navy, and the Wildlife Habitat Council, with participation from The Nature Conservancy. Montgomery Council Committees to Review Budget Requests of Police, WSSC, OHR- The Public Safety Committee of the Montgomery County Council on Thursday, April 16, will review the operating budget requests of the County’s Police, Sheriff’s Office and Park Police as part of preparing the County’s Fiscal Year 2010 operating budget. The meeting of the Public Safety Committee, which is chaired by Council President Phil Andrews and includes Councilmembers Roger Berliner and Marc Elrich, will begin at 2 p.m. in the Third Floor Council Hearing Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.
