Northbound I-270 at MD 109 for Four Hours

SHA Will Detour Traffic for Four Hours
between Midnight and 4:00 a.m. Early Tuesday Morning

(April 2, 2009) - On early Tuesday morning, April 7, the Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration (SHA) will temporarily detour traffic along northbound I-270 at Exit 22/MD 109 (Old Hundred Road) in Montgomery County for approximately four hours between midnight and 4:00 a.m., weather permitting.

As part of the $8 million project to replace the 58 year-old bridges along I-270 over Doctor Perry Road in Frederick County, on April 7, from midnight to 4:00 a.m., SHA will temporarily detour traffic along northbound I-270. SHA will detour traffic for approximately four hours to ensure the safety of work crews and motorists as a storm water management pipe is installed beneath northbound I-270.

Motorists traveling along northbound I-270 will be detoured to Exit 22 (MD 109 east) to a left at MD 355 (Urbana Pike) north to a left onto MD 80 (Fingerboard Road) west back to I-270. SHA will place signs along the detour route to guide motorists. Additionally, Maryland State Police (MSP) will be on-site at the I-270/MD 109 and MD 109/MD 355 intersections to assist with traffic control.
