G1 Beat:

• A strong-arm carjacking occurred in the parking lot in the 700 block of Sligo Avenue in Silver Spring on Wednesday, 2/25 at 1:00 a.m. The adult male victim was approached by two suspects, armed with handguns, who demanded his keys and his vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled in his vehicle.
Suspects: (2) W/M, 20-25 years, 5’10” to 6’1”, wearing masks (NFD), armed with handguns
Stolen Vehicle: 1993 white Cadillac Seville, 4- door

• A carjacking occurred in the parking lot of the Mr. Wash at 7998 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring on Tuesday, 3/3 at 3:00 p.m. As an adult male was washing his car, the suspect approached the victim from behind, assaulted him, and fled in his vehicle.
Suspect: B/M, 20-25 years, 5’6”, dreadlocks, wearing a yellow jacket
Stolen Vehicle: 2005 Acura, green MDX SUV


G2 Beat:

• An armed robbery occurred at the Texaco gas station at 8225 Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring on Wednesday, 2/25 at 4:20 p.m. The suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The employee complied and the suspect fled on foot.
Suspect: B/M, 24-29 years, 5’11” to 6’1”, 120-160 lbs., wearing a ski mask, black puffy jacket and armed with a handgun.

• An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 1000 block Roswell Drive in Silver Spring on Tuesday, 2/24 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Attempted forced entry, but entry was not gained, nothing taken.

• A burglary/assault occurred in the 9300 block of Worth Avenue in Silver Spring on Thursday, 2/26 at approximately 1:45 p.m. The male suspect, who was known to the victim, forced entry into the residence and assaulted the victim. Officers arrived in time to make an arrest.

• An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 2400 block of Seminary Road in Silver Spring on Friday, 2/27 at 4:15 a.m. A resident responded to the sound of at the door and observed the suspect (NFD) attempting to pry the door. The victim fled.

• A residential burglary occurred in the 10500 block of Brunswick Avenue in Silver Spring on Saturday, 2/28 at approximately 10:30 p.m. The resident responded to the sound of glass breaking and observed the suspect in the residence. The suspect fled the residence and no property was taken.
Suspect: U/M 5’11”, 180-200 lbs., wearing a black knit hat, blue hoodie, jeans, and boots.


H1 Beat:

• An aggravated assault/armed robbery occurred on Friday, 2/27 between 8:50 a.m. and 9:01 a.m. in the 8300 block of Tahona Drive in Silver Spring. The suspects drove alongside the adult male victim, exited their vehicle, and proceeded to assault the victim and demanded his wallet. The victim complied and the suspects fled in their vehicle.
Suspect #1: B/M, 5’8” to 5’10”, dreadlocks, wearing dark clothing, armed with a red 2x4
Suspect #2: H/M, 5’8” to 5’10”, wearing dark clothing, armed with a tire iron
Vehicle: Green (possibly teal green) Nissan


H2 Beat:

• An aggravated assault occurred in the 1600 block of Neely Road in Silver Spring on Monday, 2/23 at 8:40 p.m. An adult male was shot in his residence by a known suspect. The suspect arrived, displayed a gun, and shot him. The suspect fled on foot. An arrest warrant has been issued for the identified suspect.

• A residential burglary occurred in the 10600 block of Glenwild Road in Silver Spring between 9:00 a.m. and 8:10 p.m. on Tuesday, 2/17. Forced entry, and property was removed.


I1 Beat:

• A residential burglary occurred in the 13100 block of Serpentine Way in Silver Spring between 9:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, 2/26. Forced entry and property was removed.

• A residential burglary occurred in the 12400 block of Pretoria Drive in Silver Spring between 3:00 p.m. Saturday, 2/28 and 3:45 p.m. Sunday, 3/1. Forced entry, property removed.

• A commercial burglary occurred at The Concrete Supply Company, 11700 Cherry Hill Road in Silver Spring between 5:00 p.m. Friday, 2/27 and 4:30 a.m. Monday, 3/2. Forced entry. Unknown what was taken.


I2 Beat:

• An armed robbery occurred on Wednesday, 2/25 at 7:40 p.m. at Briggs Chaney Road and Castle Boulevard in Silver Spring. An adult male taxi cab driver picked up the suspect at the Silver Spring Metro and drove him to the Castle Boulevard corridor. The suspect placed an unknown object to the victim’s head and demanded cash. The victim complied. The suspect fled on foot.
Suspect: B/M, 20-25 years, dreadlock, black baseball, black jacket, armed with an unknown weapon (possibly a gun)

• An aggravated assault on a Police Officer occurred on Thursday, 2/26 at 8:18 p.m. in the 14000 block of Castle Boulevard in Silver Spring. A Police Community Action Team (PCAT) officer was conducting a traffic stop and was struck by the vehicle, landing on the roof. The officer discharged
his service revolver before being thrown from the roof of the vehicle. The suspect escaped after the vehicle crashed, but was arrested the next day at a hospital in Prince George’s County. The officer is recovering from leg injuries.

• An attempted residential burglary occurred between 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, 2/24 and 10:46 a.m. Wednesday, 2/25 in the 4200 block of Sugar Pine Court in Silver Spring. Attempted forced entry, none gained, nothing taken.
