A series of free programs on the environment and what residents can do to improve environmental quality will be presented in March and April at the Bethesda Library, 6400 Arlington Rd. Sponsored by Friends of the Library, Bethesda Chapter, the series will feature programs for all ages covering topics such as watershed-wise gardening, alternative energy, recycling, and taking action.

March 21 -- From Your Garden to the Bay!

Noon – Basics of Watershed-wise Gardening will be discussed by Jennifer Willoughby, Arborist, Interstate Commission on the Potomac River. Some specific garden examples included will be: xeriscapes, hummingbird/butterfly, and native meadows, including soil and water needs and what plants are ideal for each.
