J1 Beat:

· The alleged sex assault at Blake High School reported on Wednesday 1/31 was between students. Investigation is continuing.

J2 Beat:

· This event was mentioned in last week’s summary. On Tuesday 1/30 at 0045 hours, a W/M armed dressed in a camouflage hat and with a pipe robbed the 7-11 at 17701 Muncaster Mill Road. Two Frederick, Maryland residents/suspects were arrested yesterday attempting to enter Canada.

· The commercial burglary at the Thai Tavern occurred overnight on Thursday 2/1 to Friday 2/2. The victim discovered the side door pried open and cash register open when she came to work. A few dollars and a couple beers were taken. Another commercial attempt was reported the same night at Rock Creek Village shopping center (Village Beer and Wine).

K1 Beat:

· On Sunday 2/4 at 1430 hours, a male juvenile was beaten and robbed after he got off a Metro bus in front of Manor apartments. The suspects followed the victim off the bus and robbed him of his IPOD and headphones. 4D patrol officers observed suspects matching the lookout, standing at a bus stop on Bel Pre Road at Weeping Willow Drive. The victim positively ID’d the suspect and his property was recovered. Both were arrested.

· The attempt burglary at 3500 Block of Pear Tree Court occurred on Friday 2/2 0630-1800 hours. Unknown suspect pried the front door at the strike plate but did not gain entry.

· On Tuesday 1/30, a traffic stop on a 2007 Lexus SUV pulling out of Pear Tree Court, resulted in the discovery of a loaded handgun in the map pocket of the driver’s door. The vehicle was stolen. Three of the four occupants of the vehicle made statements that the fourth occupant, an H/Juvenile picked them up in the stolen car (stolen from 5D) and was in possession of the handgun when he picked them up. Additionally the Juvenile was found to have been convicted of armed robbery (adult charge) and was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

· The aggravated assault against police officers on Thursday 2/1 at 0104 hours was in the course of a DWI pursuit/arrest. After stopping his vehicle, the defendant tried to back up / run over the arresting officers.

· The attempt burglary at Village Beer and Wine on Friday 2/2 at 0415 hours was found by MCP responding to a commercial alarm. The unknown suspect pried the rear door, setting off the alarm. The activated alarm apparently scared the suspect off and no entry was gained.

· On Sunday 2/4 at 1805 hours, MCP responded for an alarm at Carpet and Things at 13603 Connecticut Avenue. While on the scene, an employee of Hair Cuttery approached the officer and advised he heard someone pulling on the back door of Hair Cuttery and when he went to investigate, observed a B/M, 25-40, 5’11”, 200 lbs. and wearing all black, attempting to open rear doors of other businesses. The individual had backed his silver Toyota Camry up to the back door of Carpet and Things with his trunk open and appeared to be placing objects in the trunk. The subject became startled by something and sped off. The manager of Carpet and Things responded and secured the doors of his store. At that time, the manager of Carpet and Things didn’t notice anything missing from the store.

· The attempt burglary at 4200 Block of Aspen Hill Road, overnight Thursday 2/1 to Friday 2/2, was to a vacant house under renovation. A side basement window was broken and the rear basement door handle was broken. Entry was not gained because the contractor secured the back door after a previous burglary in January (tools taken).

· The burglary at 12500 Block of Farnell Drive occurred on Monday 1/29 and occurred between 0101 and 1900 hours. The rear door was forced/kicked open and the bedrooms were searched. Cash, debit cards, and two blankets were taken.

L1 Beat

· The strongarm robbery reported on Tuesday 2/6 occurred at 1430 hours at northbound Connecticut Avenue and Brightview Street. The juvenile male victims were walking home from school when a 1995 black Toyota Corolla with MD tags stopped in front of them and three H//M’s 18-19, one taller and heavier and the other shorter and thinner #3 NFD, jumped out of the vehicle and accused them of being MS-13 (unknown if they are). The three suspects assaulted the two victims and took a backpack and a cell phone. The vehicle fled southbound on Connecticut Avenue.

· The burglary reported at 3700 Block of Brightview Street occurred on Tuesday 1/30 between 1145-1215 hours. An unlocked side window was entered. All property was taken from the bedroom of a teenage son. The son suspects an acquaintance who shares his love of classic athletic shoes, which are among the property taken.

· These three burglaries occurred on the Monday 2/5 in close proximity and appear to be related. The narrowest time frame is 1215-1710 hours. None of the neighbors were able to provide any useful information other than a dog barking at 1530 hours.
  • 11200 Block of Midvale Road Mon. 2/5 1200-1950 hours. Broke window next to side door of house. Unlocked door. Suspect gained entry and moved a few items around the house but didn’t taken anything.
  • 2600 Block of McComas Avenue Mon 2/5 1215-1710 hours. Broke basement window and entered same. Jewelry taken from jewelry box in master bedroom. Neighbors heard dog next door to victim barking violently at 1530 hours.
  • 2900 Block of University Boulevard W Mon 2/5 0800-1800 hours. Broke window to basement apartment and entered same. Searched dresser drawers and jewelry box. Took cash in change.
  • 11500 Block of Georgia Ave Tuesday 1/30 0855 hrs. Neighbor observed three young males wearing face masks NFD in back yard. One suspect stood on brick wall adjoining house attempting to reach window. Neighbor/witness yelled “good morning” to the suspects and they turned around and looked at her and fled the yard. No entry.
  • 1200 Block of Arcola Avenue, Tuesday 1/30 0855-1610 hours. Unknown suspects forced the front door to enter the residence. Cash was removed from an envelope in the bedroom.


L2 Beat:

· The burglary on Tuesday 1/30 at the 1900 Block of Alberti Drive was reported at 1234 hours. The suspects entered the house via an unlocked door knowing that the adult female victim was on another level of the home, but unaware that an adult male was also home at the time. When confronted, the suspects grabbed miscellaneous, mostly worthless, property and fled the house. The resident called 911 and MCP located the suspects. Arrested were:

Def: Juvenile H/M 17 years
Two other suspects fled the scene and were not identified.

· On Thursday 2/1, Einstein High School administrators were looking for the source of a foul odor coming from student’s lockers and discovered an air pistol in a student’s locker. A 15 Year Old B/Male was charged with possession of the handgun.

· The alleged sex assault at Amherst Avenue and Prichard was reported on Wednesday 1/31. The victim, a 13 year old female, reports that while she was waiting at her school bus stop, the suspect, a W/M, 23-27, 6’3”, 230 lbs. short blond hair and wearing a gray sweatshirt, approached her and grabbed her right breast. He shoved his hand inside her pants (outside her underwear). The suspect saw the school bus approaching and fled the scene heading north on Amherst towards University Boulevard. This incident is being investigated.
