Volunteer Center Encourages Donations to Holiday Giving Project; Welcomes Interfaith

Individuals, families, companies and civic and faith groups in Montgomery County who want to help make the holidays a little brighter for local residents in need are encouraged to consider donating food and toys for the Montgomery County Holiday Giving Project which has been aiding lower income families for the past 30 years.

The Holiday Giving Project is a coalition of nonprofit, faith-based, public and private groups that collect and distribute food and gifts during the winter holidays to individuals and families, referred by social workers, school counselors and health professionals. This year more than 9,000 families have been referred to the project..

Managing the Holiday Giving Project this year for the first time is Interfaith Works, a non-sectarian nonprofit with more than 140 member and affiliated congregations working together to meet the needs of the poor in Montgomery County.
