Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett has announced that Christopher Voss, 37, of Rockville, will serve as the new director of the newly created Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. The office was created under the recent County reorganization that abolished the former Department of Homeland Security.
Prior to accepting the Montgomery County post, Voss was with the National Security Technology Department at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab Laboratory (JHUAPL). He was responsible for developing strategic approaches to Homeland Security in order to capture the scientific knowledge and technological expertise in the United States to help protect the country against terrorism and catastrophic events.
