County Residents Urged to Keep Safe During Extreme Cold

County Executive Isiah Leggett today urged all Montgomery County residents to take precautions to stay safe during this period of extreme cold. “Nothing is more important to us than the safety and health of our residents,” said Leggett, “and we want to be sure that residents protect themselves and their families from harm while the temperatures remain extremely cold.”
Each year in the United States, injuries occur during the winter due to exposure to the cold, as well as improper use of portable heaters. The following tips can help residents stay safe during this winter weather season.
• Try to stay indoors when the weather is extremely cold, especially if there are high winds. Make any trip outside as brief as possible.
