Metro to Post Bus Service Disruption Information on its Website

In its continuing efforts to communicate timely and critical information about Metrobus service, the transit agency is now posting major service disruption information on its Web site, www.metroopensdoors.com.

Anytime a major Metrobus service disruption occurs due to police activity, emergency road closures, excessive vehicular traffic, inclement weather, public demonstrations or Metrorail station closures, an alert will scroll at the top of the home page. Metro will provide the route, the location and destination of the bus route, the start time, the reason and details of the incident. Once the incident is cleared, the item will be removed from the Metro Web site.

“This is just another example of Metro providing information to make sure our customers are informed if something is likely to impact their bus trip,” said Gerald Francis, Metro’s Deputy General Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
