Overnight Lane Closures on Nicholson Lane for Final Bridge Work
The Division of Capital Development's bridge refurbishment project on the Nicholson Lane bridge over the CSX rialroad tracks in North Bethesda continues. On May 15th, starting at 9:00 PM, the contractor will be using certified flagmen to direct traffic and may also be closing a potion of Nicholson Lane for a short duration during the night.
These temporary lane closures are required in order to use a crane to lift steel girders from trucks and set them on the new bridge abutments. This work will occur between the hours of 9:00 PM on the evening of
May 15 through the night until 5:00 AM the next morning, May 16th. Variable Message Signs will be placed a few days before construction starts at strategic locations to inform the public of the new temporary traffic pattern.
