Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Aspen Hill

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred this morning in Aspen Hill.
This morning at approximately 6:39 a.m., 4th District officers responded for the report of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Bel Pre Road and Connecticut Avenue in Aspen Hill.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian, Amy Lyn Dawson, age 53, of the 14400 block of Banquo Terrace in Silver Spring, was crossing at the intersection of Bel Pre Road and Connecticut Avenue. She was struck by a green 2003 Nissan Altima, driven by Malcolm Francis Spicer, Jr., age 60, of the unit block of Aigburth Road in Towson, MD., who was traveling westbound on Bel Pre Road. The driver remained on the scene.
Dawson was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted by the State Medical Examiner’s office in Baltimore.
Anyone who witnessed this collision and has not already spoken to police is asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435. No charges have been filed and the investigation is continuing
